Through much of the late 1980s through 1990s I was part of a loose network of artists and activists that routinely created posters, zines, broadsides, screenprints, flyers, and other materials with political messages. We would even create fake business cards for rapacious developers to leave around town, or subject popular comics to "détournement". What should be immediately clear is how crude and unsophisticated the work is.
Through multiple moves and many waterlogged boxes, I've lost most of this work, but a bit of it survives. I've included some examples below. More can be found in the improbably named "Joseph Heathcott Collection of Counterculture Publications" at the Saint Louis University Library and Archives.
